CRD is an application for Windows that saves time and money by making it easy to define single or packages of Crystal reports, schedule and run them automatically, and send the reports to print, fax, disk, or email in a number of standard formats.
Simply set up a schedule stating how often you would like each report to run, whether you'd like the output in Word, Excel, HTML, RTF, Acrobat, RPT, text format, and more and who it should be sent to.
It's easy to schedule reports to run at a specific date and time, or to run them hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly - or when spcified events occur
The same report can be scheduled to be run multiple times with different parameters, formats, frequencies, and destinations.
By automating repetitive reporting tasks, CRD ensures that reports are created and distributed when needed, without error, and without costly support time.
CRD's familiar Explorer-like interface makes it easy to define and schedule report packages. The context (right-click) menus and full copy-and-paste support make it easy to create complex distribution schedules.
Here are some key features of "CRD":
· Schedule reports to run at a specific date and time or Hourly, Daily, Week Days, Weekly or Monthly. Or set up your own custom frequency calendars.
· Export Crystal reports to many file formats including Microsoft® Word, Rich Text (RTF), Excel (XLS), HTML, PDF, Text, RPT, CSV, XML and lots more
· Email your Crystal report (CC and BCC too!) using SMTP, Outlook, Exchange, MAPI or CRDMail.
· Print your Crystal report.
· Schedule your report to print to multiple printers (Bulk Printing)
· Send your Crystal report to a local or network folder or directory.
· Transfer your Crystal report to an FTP folder or destination.
· Fax your Crystal report.
· Run custom actions before your Crystal report is exported.
· Run custom actions after the report export has completed.
· The same report can be scheduled to be run multiple times with different parameters (discreet and ranges), formats, frequency and destinations.
· "Dynamic" schedules will reel through a database, automatically populate parameter values, and send reports to the corresponding email address from a database. Use our easy interface, or paste in your own fancy SQL script. With some manipulation, you can "burst" report groups to different recipients, add conditions and criteria.
· "Package Schedules" feature allows you to select a number of different reports to be selected to create a "package". The package is then sent in a single e-mail, or output into a single defined folder.
· Event Based Scheduling. Why limit yourself to Daily, Weekly, Monthly etc? Have your report fired off when an event occurs e.g. a file is modified, a database record is created.
Limitations:
· 30 days trial.
What's New in This Release:
· Speeded up the Editor's load time
· Introduced ability to right-click and execute a schedule from within Sistem Monitor
· Errors which occur when using the editor are not automatically emailed to the "administrator".
· Under certain circumstances you can no longer determine the order in which reports execute within packages
· Schedules with End Date in the past still appear in System Monitor
· Schedule errors if exported excel file name is longer than 25 characters
· Performance counters registry key required but Windows 2003 SP1 upgrade removes it
· Database fields in the email body of a dynamic schedule doesn't work
· Invalid TLV Record - for no reason!
· Excel Only - can't determine column size as values are not saved
· Excel Output - Can't use a spreadsheet name which has spaces in it
· If you are using SQL or ODBC database instead of local file system and you lose your connection, CRD needs to deal with this elegantly instead of just looping unhappily
· When using default printing, CRD does not close Acrobat down if you are using Acrobat Professional.
