Ashampoo WinOptimizer Platinum Suite 3 is like having your own personal cleaning company for your Windows® computer. Like a professional cleaner, the program knows exactly what kind of dirt to look for, where to find it and how to get rid of it efficiently and without damaging anything else.

There are three basic kinds of modules in Ashampoo WinOptimizer Platinum Suite 3: Cleaner Modules, Tuner Modules and Additional Function Modules.

Cleaner Modules

As their name implies, Cleaner modules are used to clean up Windows. They provide functions with which you can seek out and delete all the different kinds of garbage that collect in your Windows system, including redundant files, shortcuts, registry entries and so on. Getting rid of this garbage frees up valuable space on your hard disk and makes Windows run more smoothly. See Why Optimize Windows? for details.

Tuner Modules

The Tuner modules improve various aspects of Windows performance by optimizing the standard parameters that control how your computer and the operating system work. The default settings that Windows uses are often less than ideal and sometimes they can be improved considerably. See the sections on the individual Tuner modules for details.

Additional Function Modules:

The modules File Wiper, File Associator, IP Spam Blocker and Popup Blocker can't really be classified as either a cleaner module or a tuner module, so we decided not to call it either. But we think you'll agree that it makes a very useful addition to Ashampoo WinOptimizer Platinum Suite 2!

Requirements:

· Operating system: Windows 98, ME, 2000 (with Service Pack 1 or higher, Service Pack 2 is recommended) or XP.
· Computer: Any computer that runs one of the above operating systems at a reasonable speed, with a mouse or other compatible pointing device (required).
· Memory: For optimum performance you should have at least 64MB RAM installed on Windows 9x-based systems. Memory recommendations for Windows 2000 and XP are higher. On these systems you should have enough memory to run standard applications like major office suites or graphics programs smoothly.
· Graphics adapter: Min. resolution 800 x 600 with 16MB memory and 16-bit color (high color)
· Hard disk space: 20MB
· Software: Microsoft Internet Explorer v. 4 or higher is required for the Internet Cleaner Internet Tuner modules (you will get an error message if you try to start Internet Cleaner without IE 4 or higher installed).
· Parts of the interface require Macromedia Flash to be displayed. The installation program checks for the Macromedia Flash version installed on the system and installs a higher one if necessary.

· Tweaking - This module provides direct and simple access to a whole series of Windows settings to improve the performance and responsiveness of your computer.
· Defrag - comes with a powerful disk defragmenter for quick and efficient hard disk defragmentation.
· System Information - Provides direct access in one place to all the information you need about your Windows hardware and software configuration.
· Disk Space Explorer - Analyzes and displays how the space on your hard disk is used, complete with pie chart or bar chart graphics with different colours for the space occupied by different types of files.
