Genesis Gold is a fully working simulator which incorporates virtual equipment and virtual welds for training and competency testing in analog as well as digital ultrasonics.

The simulator enables students to "see" the travel of sound in the weld metal incorporating manual and mechanised ultrasonic equipment.

Here are some key features of "Genesis Gold":

· Number of channels can be selected for 4 to 10 plus one TOFD channel.
· In each pulse echo channel you can specific any angle between 35 and 75 degrees and either stardard pulse-echo, pitch & catch or through transmission.
· Pipe wall thickness from 10 to 50 mm and weld prep from 5 to 45 degrees can be selected.
· The selected probes in each channel can be moved to tune into a particular region of the weld using the calibraton block creator.
· Ampltude and range and xshift can be controlled for each channel.
· For each channel two gates can be set , Transit gate and Amplitude gate. Gates have three controls, Start, width and ampltude (or height)
· Only when all parameters have been set correctly to a specified procedure can weld interpretation begin.
· The simulation can produce random defects in a pipe or defects and be drawn by a trainee or teacher .
· Defects can be visible or hidden for testing operator competence.
· So we have Unlimited pipes with unlimited defects.
